Voortrekker Monument
You will be astonished by this monument that was designed by Sir Herbert Baker and
completed in 1910. The excellent craftsmanship portraits the history of the great trek
and the challenges that the Voortrekkers endured.

Melrose House
This house was built in 1886 for George Hayes in a beautiful Victorian style that
represents the lifestyle of the middle upper class society of Pretoria at the turn
of the century. |

Kruger House
President Paul Kruger occupied the house from 1883 until 1900. His state railway
coach is also kept at the back of the house. All the memorabilia is well preserved
in this house. |

Church Square
The statue was erected in the middle of the square to commemorate and portray
some of the most important events in South African history. The square is
surrounded by buildings dating from the mid 1800's. |

Union Buildings
Sir Herbert Baker designed the Union Buildings that were constructed between
1910 and 1913. You will be intrigued by the view, the gardens and the memorials
erected at the Union Buildings. This is where old president Nelson Mandela
was inaugurated as president in 1994. |
